HMS Royal George - Click to expand The NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM is devoted to the history of Britain and the sea. Many excellent interactive displays and exhibits illustrate Britain's great maritime past. Among the 15 galleries are:

All Hands - displays sea skills and interactive exhibits on gunnery etc.

Hidden Treasures - some of the 2 million items on display.

Nelson - "I will be a hero, and confiding in Providence, I will brave every danger". Memorabilia of Britain's greatest naval commander.

Rank and Style - "every girl loves a sailor" but why?

Seapower - display dedicated to the submarine and its crew. Search Station - computer workstations explore the collections held by the museum.

Ship of War - superb collection of model warships from mid 17th century to early 19th century.

There are wonderful views across the Thames from the parkland surrounding the museum.
